The new online falls platform, Steady On Your Feet Cheshire, has officially launched - just in time for Falls Awareness Week next week (16th - 20th September). The platform has been jointly funded by Cheshire East Council and Cheshire West and Chester Council, and is free to use and available to the public across the whole of Cheshire.

The platform is designed to help older adults take proactive steps to reduce their risk of falling, and feel more confident about their balance and moving around safely. It provides an opportunity for the public to gain a greater awareness of potential falls risks, and then offers practical solutions to reduce those risks.
A key feature is the interactive self-assessment tool. This takes the user through a risk assessment considering common risk factors, and generates a personal action plan with tips on how to reduce the risks identified. The site also includes exercise guidelines and videos, home safety advice, and signposting to local services. These resources are designed for anyone who might be worried about feeling a little unsteady on their feet - including those who haven't previously had a fall. Primary prevention is key!
