Introduction to Trustee Roles and Responsibilities - Monday 22nd July, 5pm-7pm on Zoom
This virtual session provides an overview of the roles and responsibilities of a trustee of a small group or charity. During this course you will have the opportunity to understand the different ways that a trustee can contribute to the organisation and the importance of the role in the governance of the charity.

Introduction to Social Media Training - Wednesday 24th July, 1pm-2:30pm on Zoom
Dive into the world of social media with our beginners training session; designed to equip staff and volunteers with the basic skills needed to use Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn effectively. In this course, participants will explore the fundamentals of social media communication and engagement. We will cover profiles & pages, crafting posts, and key platform features.

Boundaries Training - Tuesday 30th July, 3pm-5pm on Zoom
It is difficult for staff, and especially for volunteers to know what boundaries should exist between them and service users, and what to do if these are being broken. This training will look at how staff and volunteer maintain professional boundaries with service users and with each other.

Introduction to Safeguarding - Wednesday 4th September, 10am-12pm on Zoom
This virtual session is designed to ensure that the people involved with your organisation understand what safeguarding is and how to deal with any safeguarding issues.

Advanced Grant Applications - Monday 23rd and 30th September, 6:30pm-8:30pm
This 2-part training will help you to target and develop your bids to maximise chances of funding success. This training will assess if you are applying for the right funding, understand how to enhance your applications and identify what factors can improve success of your bids.

Introduction to UKGDPR and Cyber Security - Wednesday 25th September, 1pm-2:30pm on Zoom
Data protection and cyber security are essential for those working or volunteering in the charity sector. Do you know how to safely process data and protect your organisation from digital attacks?

Volunteers and the Law - Thursday 10th and 17th October, 10am-12pm on Zoom
Do you know your legal responsibilities to your volunteers? This 2-part virtual course will help you understand legislation, volunteer agreements, how to avoid risk, and gain awareness of the common pitfalls facing volunteering for organisations.

Introduction to Grant Applications - Monday 4th November, 1pm-3pm on Zoom
Ideal for community and voluntary organisations who are new to applying for grant funding. This session will take you through the crucial steps you need to take to help you ensure your organisation has the best chance of success with your grant bids.

Introduction to Volunteer Management - Thursday 21st November, 10am-12pm on Zoom
Is your organisation volunteer ready? Come along and find out more about how your organisation can effectively involve volunteers. This short session is aimed at people who are new to managing volunteers or refresher training for existing volunteer managers

We at CVS provide a variety of expert-led training opportunities, from requisite or essential training for people working or volunteering in the sector to specialist training in fields like grant writing and trusteeship. We hold both in-person and virtual training sessions (details found in each training description). Session costs available on request, with a substantial discount for CVS members!
