Patient Partnership Week for 2024 will run from Monday 2nd to Friday 6th September. The Patient Association would love you to join them, the webinars include:

Implementing shared decision making in practice, Monday 2nd September 11am – 12pm.
Kicking off Patient Partnership Week, our Head of Patient Partnership Sarah Tilsed, patient Jess Plant, and Trustee Professor Alf Collins will explore the benefits to patients and the health system of shared decision making.

In conversation with the Patient Safety Commissioner, Monday 2nd September 3pm – 4pm
We're delighted to welcome back Dr Henrietta Hughes, Patient Safety Commissioner, to Patient Partnership Week. She will discuss her work with our Chief Executive Rachel Power.

Recognising health inequalities - barriers to care faced by those with cancer and blood disorders, Tuesday 3rd September 2pm – 3pm
Building on our work on cancers and blood disorders, Sarah Tilsed will be speaking with John James, Chief Executive at the Sickle Cell Society, patient Ram Paul, and Alfie Bailey-Bearfield, Head of Health Improvement & Influencing at Pancreatic Cancer UK, about how to reduce health disparities and improve access to quality care for underserved populations living with cancers and blood disorders.

Empowering patients as equal partners in care, Wednesday 4th September 9am – 10am
We are excited to announce that Professor Havi Carel, from the University of Bristol's Department of Philosophy, will join us for this webinar to talk about the EPIC (Epistemic Injustice in Healthcare) project and its findings. EPIC is attempting to answer the question: How can we ensure that people are heard in healthcare settings?

Effective communication strategies for informed patients, Thursday 5th September 8am – 9am
Demos' Director of Participatory Programmes, Miriam Levin will be on this panel, alongside patient Rajendra Patel, to discuss with Rachel Power how critical communication is in the provision of healthcare.

Joining services around patients: the role of data, Friday 6th September 9am - 10am
The final webinar of Patient Partnership Week is with NHS England's Chief Data and Analytics Officer Ming Tang. Ming discusses with patients Amin Islam and Sandra Rennie, alongside Rachel Power, how data can improve the provision and quality of care, and ensure patients are at the centre of their own care.
