Welcome Cheshire East Council Staff
We'd like to welcome all the Cheshire East Council Staff to Community & Voluntary Services Cheshire East (CVS), as an organisation we support the local voluntary, community and faith sector with many different services but we may be better known publicly as the accredited Volunteer Centre for Cheshire East.
We are very pleased to be working closely with Cheshire East Council to help and support the council staff to find volunteering placements through our services and at the same time afford our community the level of support your volunteering hours will provide.
As a Volunteer Centre, we host a free online volunteer recruitment service for our community. The opportunities featured on our website are advertised by the respective organisation looking for that all important volunteer support. Some of these organisations are small and local, some are very well known and national, all deliver services within Chesire East.
We host approx 100-150 opportunities at any one time. New opportunities are added each week and there is a huge variety of roles and activities to choose from, each offering their own fun, engaging and rewarding expriences.

Pre-Registration
To apply for volunteering opportunities on our website, you will need to pre-register as a volunteer.
Pre-registration will:
- Create a login for you to our website.
- Capture some basic information about you and your goals in volunteering (which will be submitted with any application).
- Allow you to apply for any of the volunteering roles found in our opportunities featured on our website.
- Give you the option to sign up to our Volunteers eBulletin, which delivers new local opportunities, projects and events you can get involved with to your inbox.
If you are not looking to volunteer any time soon, pre-registering and signing up for our Volunteers eBulletin gives us an indication of the level of volunteer support that may be available for local events and projects in the future.
What to expect
Many of the voluntary organisations in our community are small and operated by part-time staff and/or other volunteers so responses to applications may not always be timely. If you haven't had a response to an application within 10 working days, contact us at CVS on 01270 763 100 or email enquiries@cvsce.org.uk and we'll politely enquire on your behalf.
If you are planning to volunteer on a certain date or period of time, we recommend making an application 3 - 4 week before this time.
Volunteering with colleagues
Volunteering can be a really fun excursion from work and it can a lot more fun and rewarding volunteering with colleagues, either by way of team building or just socially. Often the best opportunities to volunteer with a colleague would be one-off events, fundraisers, community fairs, celebrations, Prides and Christmas related charitable events. We can't always predict when these type of events will appear on our website but signing up to the Volunteers eBulletin will have these opportunities delivered directly to your inbox.
Thank You
On behalf of all the voluntary organisations in our community, we'd like to thank Cheshire East Council for putting in place a policy supporting two days volunteering for their staff.
We hope you take full advantage of the policy, support a local cause, enjoy your experience, recommend volunteering to other colleagues, friends and family, and continue to volunteer in the future.
We are always looking for ways to improve our Volunteer Centre services, your experiences and the level of support volunteering affords the Cheshire East voluntary sector. If you have any feedback, questions or need support in your search for a volunteer placement, please don't hesitate to get in touch, we'd be happy to hear from you on 01270 763 100 or email enquiries@cvsce.org.uk
Regards
The CVS Team
