As a Family Coach you will have, presently or previously, a loved one in addiction and understand the pain and helplessness that comes with that. You will be trained to support others going through all the issues that come with having a loved one in addiction.
To provide 121 support as and when required for family/friends of people in addiction.
To help facilitate group mutual aid meetings where members can draw strength from each other and sharing their experiences.
You will attend a mandatory 5 day full accredited Family Coach training course from 13th to 17th May and after 12 weeks of volunteering with Emerging Futures will receive your certificate as a qualified Family Coach.
This is an amazing opportunity to give back and help others get through those difficult and dark days that you yourself have an understanding of.
You will work with a fantastic team of Volunteers and Staff and will benefit from knowing you are making a difference.
You will need life experience and whilst you may be in recovery yourself you need to have or have had in the past a significant other in addiction. You will have an understanding of how that feels and all the emotions that come with that.
You will have a desire to help others.
You will have good communication skills.

Supervision will be mandatory so you have the chance to voice any concerns or issues you may come up against in this role. Support is always available and is very flexible to suit.
