Sandbach Concert Series aims to promote music making by youth and community groups of Sandbach and surrounding areas in conjunction with professional musicians..

Sandbach Concert Series is a non-profit Arts organization run entirely by volunteers. With eight concerts a year at St Mary’s Church Hall, a deliberately early start and finish time to our concerts, as well as reasonable ticket prices its aim is to encourage more families to attend classical music concerts.

The treasurer’s role is to:

Receive and bank proceeds from each concert,
Make bank deposits of other income received (e.g grants and donations),
Make any payment that are necessary throughout the year,
Maintain records of all transactions,
Produce annual audited accounts,
Make financial reports to the trustees,
Take the lead in preparing an annual budget.

The current treasurer would work closely with any new person taking on this role to ensure a smooth transition. The treasurer needs to be present at each of the eight concerts (eight Wednesdays a year), any other time necessary can be undertaken at times to suit the new treasurer.

A treasurer is required to take on this role when the current holder retires in September 2019, after nine year in the post.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

A knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accountancy procedures. This includes the preparation of annual accounts for the trustees and the Charity Commission. The current treasurer is currently a trustee of the charity and it is likely that the new treasurer would become a trustee, taking the current treasurer's position, subject to the agreement of the remaining trustees.
