Dress up in Edwardian costumes and raising money and awareness of the suffragette movement and the amazing Congleton based Elizabeth Wolstenholme Elmy!
Elizabeth’s Helpers was started on International Women’s Day 2018. It is a non-political charity that is seeking to raise the profile of Elizabeth Wolstenholme Elmy who was a Congleton resident for over 50 years and spent her life as an activist fighting for the rights of women and girls. Elizabeth’s Helpers is raising money to purchase a lasting memorial in Congleton Town.
We are looking for volunteers to dress up in Edwardian clothing to run stalls at local events. This will involve running tombolas, raffles, walking around talking to people and raising awareness of Elizabeth and the suffragist movement. You will be part of a team of enthusiastic volunteers and you'll only need to give a few hours of your time.
We are looking for enthusiastic, outgoing people who simply want to help us spread the word about Elizabeth and her legacy. All the history and training required will be provided.
Initial training and mentoring. All information about Elizabeth and her legacy will be provided.
