Time Out Group (North West) has been working in the Wilmslow and Macclesfield areas of Cheshire for over 15 years. It has from the beginning been a members’ led organisation and has therefore developed in line with the interests and needs of its membership – adults with learning disabilities.
Each year more adults with learning disabilities contribute to improving lives with the support of Time Out Group. Together we work for greater independence, so that our members have a bigger say in what happens in their lives and increased opportunities.
This is an exciting opportunity for a new Trustee Treasurer to join us on our journey. We have a strong and positive vision to improve and expand the service, foster awareness of the professions and maintain trusted standards of conduct and expertise that promote safe practise. We are looking for an Honorary Treasurer who can share that vision and help deliver our strategic plan.
As Trustee Treasurer, your role is to oversee Time Out Group’s financial matters, ensuring we use our resources effectively to achieve our strategic aims. In common with all Trustees, your role is to be collectively responsible as a Board Member for the business of the Charity generally. Your specific duties as Trustee Treasurer are to:
Report to the Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation, ensuring good practice and adherence to legal requirements
Ensure that effective financial and accounting policies and procedures are in place and appropriate
Oversee the development and presentation of budgets, accounts, financial statements and financial reports to Trustees liaising with staff as appropriate
Bring your financial knowledge and experience to bear creatively as support, advice and challenge in Board decision making
Contribute to strategic development and planning, providing advice and guidance in support of Time Out Group’s objectives
What we need from you
You will be willing to meet the time commitments and to accept the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship. Board meetings take place every other month in the evening. This is an unpaid voluntary role however all reasonable expenses incurred will be reimbursed
As Trustee Treasurer you will be committed to the principles of effective governance and financial management in charities. You will have an accountancy or financial qualification, experience or awareness of charity accounting practice is preferable but not essential.
