Post: Court Action Volunteer

Expected Hours: 3 hours per week
Supported by: Debt Team Manager

Location: Delamere House, Delamere Street, Crewe

Role Purpose: To take court action against members who have taken out loans but have not responded appropriately to other debt collection methods.

Main and Key Areas of Responsibility:
• To recover debts through court action
• To recover costs of court action

Other Responsibilities:
• To advise on the recoverability of debt and discuss debt write off with the Debt Manager

Tasks associated with the Role:
• To receive referrals from the Debt Manager
• To assess the likelihood of effective court action
• To issue letters warning of court action
• To register claims at the court
• To attend court to represent CNCU in pursuing the claims
• To follow up court action to recover debts
• To obtain attachment of earnings to recover debts
• To appoint bailiffs to recover debts
