This role is for a chatty individual who likes talking and helping people. Training is given on the computer and it is not technically difficult at all. The customer care staff in the office behind your desk are lovely and will always step in if you don't know the answer to a query.
Volunteers are given full training on the computer programme PAS, which is used to locate patients on wards and also where appointments are and when. It is very simple to use. A cheerful and helpful attitude is very important and a smart appearance is desirable as you are the public face of the hospital when people arrive in.
35p per mile for a maximum distance of 10 miles each way
You will get training on the PAS system and will spend time shadowing the customer care receptionist and other volunteer receptionists until you are confident enough to go solo. There is always someone in the back office if any problems arise.
You will receive training on the PAS system
You will complete the Trust statutory and mandatory training
You will complete Information Governance training and WRAP training
