The Local Government Association (LGA) and Association of Directors of Public Health (ADPH) are hosting a joint webinar on supporting community recovery from the mental health impacts of COVID-19 from 3:00 – 4:30 pm on 12 July.

The webinar, funded by the government, is intended for public health professionals, council chief executives, councillors who are mental health leads, and voluntary and community sector (VCS) partners working in this field. The session will include lessons from previous incidences of mass collective trauma, and the public health strategies needed to provide the space and opportunity for people to grieve fully for those lost during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Speakers include:

  • Councillor Asher Craig, Deputy Mayor, Communities, Equalities and Public Health at Bristol City Council
  • Professor Jim McManus, Vice President, ADPH and Director of Public Health, Hertfordshire County Council
  • Andy Bell, Deputy Chief Executive Centre for Mental Health
