Can you bring this space to life? The Silk Heritage Trust has a lovely heritage asset in Macclesfield that is suitable for rent by third sector organisations: community interest companies, social enterprises or community groups.
Description:- The School Room and Garden are part of the Silk Museum, one of Macclesfield’s key Heritage Assets. It is listed Grade II as part of the former College of Further Education. The self-contained School Room is currently the location for a range of formal and informal learning and skills development opportunities, including arts and crafts classes. It has its own toilets and Entrance Hall, and its own access from Park Lane. The Garden is well-maintained, with hard landscaping, seating areas and planting. The Learning Space, toilets and Entrance hall occupy 65 metres sq.
The Trustees of the Silk Heritage Trust are inviting interested parties to come forward with innovative proposals to bring to life this unique School Room and Garden. The Silk Museum is a key part of the cultural heritage of Macclesfield and is the focus for engaging new audiences with creativity and learning. We would be keen to work in partnership with the new occupiers to develop engagement and increase our audience reach as well as to contribute income and business development opportunities.
Do you have a business idea or use that you feel could thrive within these spaces, that can maximise the creative opportunities and social impact of the School Room and the Garden?
