Volunteer Centre Manchester, managed by Macc, connects volunteers with opportunities and helps organisations develop high-quality volunteering programmes. Our work supports community well-being and resilience, ensuring volunteering is accessible, inclusive, and impactful.

About the role

We are looking for a proactive, people-focused individual to join our team as a Volunteering Development Worker. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys directly engaging with volunteers and community organisations, supporting them to develop rewarding, inclusive volunteering opportunities.

You will:

  • Support individuals looking to volunteer by providing guidance and information
  • Help organisations develop, manage, and enhance their volunteer programmes
  • Lead on community engagement initiatives, ensuring volunteering is inclusive and accessible
  • Champion volunteering across Manchester, working with stakeholders to promote best practices
  • Contribute to the Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation (VCQA), ensuring high standards in volunteer management and organisational support
  • Support digital engagement and develop innovative ways to recruit, retain, and engage volunteers

This is a hands-on, people-focused role that requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
