Changing Lives in Cheshire - Job Description – Shop Supervisor

 

Salary:                       £8 per hour  

Hours of work:           37.5 hours per week (including Saturdays with Friday and Sunday off)

Place of work:           Winsford Cross and Winsford Industrial Estate

Holiday:                     28 days including statutory bank holidays 

(increasing by 1 each year to a maximum of 33

 

Job Requirements

 

The successful candidate must have existing retail skills, having worked in a retail environment and must have a full understanding of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and have proven customer service skills. They should be outgoing and confident with a pleasant personality and enjoy dealing with the general public. They will have good communication skills, both spoken and written and be able to be able to stay calm under pressure at busy times. They will be courteous, but firm, when dealing with difficult clients, be efficient and well organised and be able to work on their own. The shops need to be kept clean and well presented and the work can be sometimes quite physical when moving some stock around. The successful candidate will also show a real interest in the work of the organisation and show sensitivity and be discreet in their dealings with clients.

 

Essential Experience or proven Skills

Retail Sales Experience with evidence of working with targets

Customer Service skills

Consumer Rights knowledge

Ability to look after a shop environment

Responsible for opening and closing as key holder

Good level of clerical skills and the ability to deal accurately with cashing up and banking

Experienced in entering data accurately on a spreadsheet and on the organisations stock control systems

Ability to work on own initiative and show authority when necessary

Ability to guide other staff members, who are training or on placements

 

Desirable Experience

Experience in providing admin assistance to others

Some experience in the training of others

Experience in working with volunteers
