Do you keep hearing about Facebook? What on earth is Twitter? This basic introductory session aimed at beginners, will help you understand why social media can be useful to community and voluntary groups.

More and more community, voluntary groups and charities use social media as another way to reach more people and spread the word about their cause.

 

Who's it for?

This session is aimed at beginners or people with little knowledge and confidence in using social media who will be using social media as a marketing tool for their community or voluntary group.

Aim of the session:

This basic introductory session will focus on Twitter and Facebook and will help you to gain confidence and start to use social media. The course will cover:

  • What social media and social networking mean.

  • The benefits of using social media.

  • What resources are available.

  • How to set up Facebook and Twitter accounts.

  • Hints and tips to get the best use out of social media.

  • Common pitfalls to avoid

 

Outcomes of the session:

  • This session will help you to understand the benefits of social media for your group
  • Help you to set up and manage social media accounts
  • Help you to avoid some of the common pitfalls
  • Take the next step towards marketing and promoting your organisation

The session will be delivered by Heidi Bibby - Development Officer at CVS Cheshire East. Heidi supports the marketing team in using social media to promote events and training. 

 

Cancellation 
CVS Cheshire East Members- Please note that although the session is free to Members- non attendance/cancellation without 3 working days' notice will result a charge of £20 being invoiced.
Non-member organisations who do not attend/ cancel without 3 working days' notice will be charged the full course fee.
